Pickpocket Suspects Wanted in Dunwoody Thefts Arrested in Atlanta

Cortez Benjamin, 47, and Cherie Miller, 34 face over 140 charges ranging from identity fraud and credit card theft.

A man and woman believed to be behind several thefts in metro Atlanta, including at least one in Dunwoody, have been apprehended in a neighboring city.

Atlanta Police have arrested Cortez Benjamin, 47, and Cherie Miller, 34 and have charged both suspects with over 140 charges, including identity fraud and credit card theft, according to WSB-TV.

Dunwoody police also suspected both Benjamin and Miller were behind a similar incident that occurred in its jurisdiction at Panera Bread on Olde Perimeter Way. 

The couple were sought for stealing wallets from purses in the Dunwoody area, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

They were also suspected of dozens of similar thefts, including one that occurred on March 25 at La Madeleine Restaurant at 1165 Perimeter Center West. 

Sandy Springs police identified both suspects as a pair who were behind the theft of a woman's wallet last month at Atlanta Bread Company on Mount Vernon Highway.
