Chamblee Charter High School was placed on temporary lockdown early Tuesday afternoon after a suspended 16-year-old student armed with multiple guns was arrested just outside the school.

released, admitted that he had stolen the weapons earlier Tuesday from a nearby
He told authorities that he had no intent of using the guns and police believe he only wanted to sell them.
But a report inside the school at approximately 2:20 p.m. that an armed individual was across the street from the school located off of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard sent the school and surrounding area into a frenzy.
The school was ordered on lockdown and very soon a plethora of police from multiple agencies, including Chamblee, DeKalb and Doraville, were on the scene.
The juvenile, who has reportedly been cooperating with authorities, was taken without
incident and students began leaving the school around 4 p.m. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
