Man Who Accused of Assaulting DeKalb Officer is Charged with Felony
Man had drawn police attention for incidents before, but it escalated Dec. 1.
The man who assualted an off-duty DeKalb police officer at the Brook Run dog park is facing three charges, including a felony obstruction of an officer.
David Dawson, who lives in the 4700 block of Layfield Drive in Dunwoody, was involved in a fight that spun out of control Dec. 1.
Dawson was charged with aggravated battery, obstruction of an officer and disorderly conduct for hos role in the incident, which started with an argument with a park-goer and ended with Dawson pinning down a DeKalb officer who tried to intervene.

Police say it wasn't the first time that Dawson's actions at the park had drawn police attention. It was the first time Dawson had been arrested there.
