Man killed in early morning accident

I-285 gridlock caused by fatal accident

A man was killed early Monday morning on I-285 near Ashford Dunwoody Road, according to Dunwoody Police.

Police are still investigating the accident, but initial reports are that a vehicle struck another one in the westbound lanes at around 4:40 a.m.

The car then lost control and struck the median before coming to a rest in the center lanes. A person got out of the vehicle and jumped the median wall into the eastbound lanes, where he was hit by oncoming traffic.

The crash is still under investigation at this time, but no charges are
expected to be taken against any of the other drivers.

The accident closed all lanes of eastbound I-285 for Monday morning's commute. All lanes were open by 9:15 a.m., said Dunwoody Police.
