Dunwoody Prep Killing: Suspect's Wife Seeks Details on His Ties to Victim's Wife

Court documents filed Thursday seek details of the relationship, including a possible affair.

The wife of a man charged with gunning down Russell Sneiderman in front of a Dunwoody day care center has filed court papers asking for information about the relationship between Sneiderman's widow and the suspect.

The attorney for Ariella Neuman, the estranged wife of Hemy Neuman, is also asking for the opportunity to take sworn statements from both the suspect and Andrea Sneiderman, the wife of the victim.

According to court documents filed Thursday, Esther Panitch, the attorney for Ariella Neuman, is asking the DeKalb County Attorney’s office to share any information or evidence that pertains to “any and all extra-marital, friendship or casual relationships.”

Panitch told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday that she believes Neuman was having an affair with Andrea Sneiderman.

Hemy Neuman, 48, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Russell ‘Rusty’ Sneiderman outside of Dunwoody Prep, a Dunwoody Village preschool, on Nov. 18. Sneiderman had just dropped off his 2-year-old son when police allege Neuman walked up and, without saying a word, shot Sneiderman several times from close range.

Sneiderman, 36, a Dunwoody father of two, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.

The DeKalb County Attorney’s office responded to Thursday's court filing with an objection to Panitch’s request.

The response says that the investigation is still ongoing and that the case has brought both local and national media attention. The state’s main reasons for objection, according to the response, are that the information could be discovered through other means and that the information could be released to the media.

The state’s response also asks that if the court does grant the release of that information, that it not be disseminated to anyone else without consent from the court.

Court documents also include subpoenas filed by Panitch to take depositions from both Neuman and Andrea Sneiderman. In that subpoena, it asks that Andrea Sneiderman produce evidence, including correspondence, direct or indirect, between she and Neuman as well as gifts, cards, personal notes, business note, etc. exchanged between she and Neuman. It also asks for journals and diaries kept since May 2010, personal and business travel itineraries, sales and receipts.

Court documents also show that Neuman had a gross yearly income of about $191,000 per year in his position at General Electric. Neuman worked with Andrea Sneiderman at General Electric in Marietta.
