Dunwoody Police Run Annual Community 5K for Good Causes

The event Sunday brought out sworn officers, families, others in the police department and Rotarians in a race for community charities that launched at Target.

Dunwoody PD with the local rotary teamed up for the 5K run Sunday.

"Run Dunwoody 2012" help police be involved with community programs; like literacy programs, Junior Achievement, outreach to youth clubs, scholarship contests and more, according to the event's website.

The deaprtment also supports the Dunwoody Police Explorers, community outreach, and the DeKalb Fire Department.

Along with the participation of Rotarians, the fun run has helped raised money for police first resonders education and health, including life-saving skills for young students, nutriton programs, and health and education screenings.
