Dunwoody Police Blotter Sept. 11-17: Burglaries, Car Break-ins

Shoplifting

• A 34-year-old Lilburn woman and a 22-year-old Atlanta woman were arrested on the evening of Sept. 11. Police responded to a theft in progress at Rite-Aid, 4621 N. Shallowford Rd. and the two women were arrested on charges of shoplifting, marijuana possession and amphetamine possession.

• A 20-year-old Sandy Springs man was arrested on charges of shoplifting on the afternoon of Sept. 12 for allegedly stealing a Swiss Army Knife, Pop-Tarts and a set of headphones worth a total of $51.17 from Target, 100 Perimeter Center Pl.

• $224 in cash was reported stolen from a Fanatic Fanz at the Perimeter Mall on the evening of Sept. 15.

• A 31-year-old College Park woman was arrested on the evening of Sept. 17 for allegedly trying to steal $162 in jewelry from Loehmans, 120 Perimeter Center Pl.

Cruelty toward child

• A 64-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on charges of family cruelty toward child on the night of Sept. 17 on the 2400 block of Dunwoody Crossing.

 

Car Theft

• A silver 2008 Cadillac Escalade was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway just after noon on Sept. 11.

• A stolen 1984 Corvette worth $4,000 was recovered on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the morning of Sept. 16.

 

Burglary

• A cash box worth $20, $200 in cash and $594 in paychecks were reported stolen from a business on the 5300 block of Tilly Mill Road on the afternoon of Sept. 12.

• A 35-year-old Lafayette, La. man was arrested in the early hours of Sept. 13 for a forced entry burglary at the 5300 block of Old Woodhall Court. Police responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on that street and saw the suspect exiting the residence and was taken into custody.

• A burglary was reported on the 2300 block of Mount Vernon Road on the morning of Sept. 17. No items were reported stolen.

• A burglary was reported on the morning of Sept. 17 on the 1700 block of Mount Vernon Road. $9 in coins were reported stolen.

 

Fleeing a police officer

• A 23-year-old Doraville man was arrested on the afternoon of Sept. 13 on charges speeding and attempting to elude a police officer at the 4800 block of Tilly Mill Road.

 

Car Break-in

• An iPod Touch worth $300 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the afternoon of Sept. 11.

• A Coach briefcase, two credit cards and various collectables were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of Sept. 13. The stolen items were valued at $2,020.

• An IBM Thinkpad, a laptop case, a pair of sunglasses, a calculator and a set of car keys were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway on the morning of Sept. 14. The stolen items were valued at $2,325.

• A purse with credit cards and cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1900 block of Mount Vernon Road on the evening of Sept. 14. The stolen items were valued at $110.

• A Burberry purse, a Tory Burch wallet, a Louis Vuitton makeup bag, a watch, a Blackberry phone and cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1900 block of Mount Vernon Road on the evening of Sept. 14. The stolen items were valued at $2,610.

• A Tom Tom GPS, a power adapter, a USB cable and several CDs were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 2800 block of Sumac Drive on the morning of Sept. 16. The stolen items were valued at $403.

 

Theft

• A 23-year-old McDonough man was arrested on the night of Sept. 12 on charges of larceny and for having an outstanding warrant on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road. He was found with stolen items including $3,000 cash and two cell phones.

• A wallet was reported stolen off of a table at Perimeter Mall on the morning of Sept. 14. The wallet included credit cards, a school ID and $260 in cash.

 

Drug possession

• Two men were pulled over at the 5400 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Road around noon on Sept. 14, suspected of using drugs. Police allegedly found the men smoking synthetic marijuana. The drugs were sent to a lab to be tested. Arrests are pending when results are retuned.

• A 20-year-old McDonough man was arrested on charges of marijuana possession the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Sept. 15

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 23-year-old Chamblee man was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct on the morning of Sept. 17 on the 4400 block of Tilly Mill Road.
