Dunwoody Police Blotter June 12 - June 18: Rash of Air Conditioner Thefts

Air conditioner thefts
Several air conditioners were reported stolen over the weekend of June 10-12. It isn’t clear if the thefts were part of the larger air conditioner theft ring broken up this week by DeKalb County Police. Among the reports:
• An air conditioning unit worth $2,000 was reported stolen from State Farm Insurance, 1874 Independence Sq., on the morning of June 13.

• An air conditioning unit worth $2,000 was reported stolen from Dental Compositions, 1872 Independence Sq., on the morning of June 13.
• An air conditioning unit worth $2,000 was reported stolen from the law office of Ron Wind, 1876 Independence Sq., on the morning of June 13.

• A Carrier air conditioning unit worth $2,400 was reported stolen from the law office of Doug Thompson, 1872 Independence Sq., on the morning of June 13.
• A Goodman air conditioning unit worth $2,000 was reported stolen from Southern Lighting, 1862 Independence Sq., on the morning of June 13.
• An Aire Flow air conditioning unit worth $2,000 was reported stolen from a business on the 1800 block of, Independence Square, on the morning of June 13.
Burglary
• A residence was reported burglarized on the 5400 block of N. Peachtree Road on the evening of June 13. Jewelry, a .38 Special revolver and a Minolta digital camera were reported stolen. The items, in total, were valued at $1,700.
• A burglary was reported on the 2300 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the night of June 13. A Sony surround sound system, flat screen television and DVD player, Dell laptop and money order were reported stolen. In total, the items were valued at $1,975.67.
• An HP computer worth $500 was reported stolen from a business on the 200 block of Perimeter Center Parkway on the morning of June 14.
Shoplifting
• A 24-year-old Stone Mountain woman was arrested on charges of theft of services, obstruction and driving without insurance on the morning of June 13.
• A Samsung Infuse phone valued at $549.99 was reported stolen from AT&T, 136 Perimeter Center W. on the afternoon of June 13.
• A 24-year-old Chamblee man was arrested on the afternoon of June 14 for allegedly trying to steal a pair of $22 Calvin Klein underwear from Macy’s at Perimeter Mall.
• Perfume valued at $325 was reported stolen from ULTA in Perimeter Mall on the evening of June 14.
• A 21-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the evening of June 15 for allegedly trying to steal pair of Levi’s cutoffs, Parish jeans and a pair of MEK jeans from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall.
• Enfamil baby formula worth $35 was reported stolen from a business on the 100 block of Perimeter Center Place on June 15.
• A 47-year-old Marietta man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly trying to steal $269.98 in clothing – including shorts, t-shirts and shirts – from Macy’s at Perimeter Mall.
• Two Apple iPhones worth $599 each were reported stolen from the Apple Store at Perimeter Mall Saturday night.
Assault
• A 50-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on assault and obstruction charges after police responded to a domestic dispute call on the 2100 block of Dunwoody Glen. The incident occurred last Friday morning.
Theft
• A theft was reported at a residence last Friday afternoon on the 1300 block of Drexel Way. $8,000 in jewelry was reported stolen.
• A theft was reported from a residence on the 2100 block of North Forest Trail last Thursday afternoon. A Sharp flat screen television, a Toshiba laptop and a full size Sealy pillow top mattress were reported stolen. In total, the items were valued at $1,650.
• A theft was reported at a residence on the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Pkwy. on the afternoon of June 14. A television, a Dell computer, clothing, a bedroom set, jewelry and a digital camera were among the items reported stolen. In total, the items were valued at $10,400.
• An iPhone was reported stolen from someone at Best Buy, 1201 Hammond Dr. on the morning of June 13. The phone was valued at $600.
• A Bank of America debit card was reported stolen from the W Hotel, 111 Perimeter Center W., and used at several stores on June 13.
• A theft from around the pool at the Broadstone at Dunwoody apartments, 2313 Dunwoody Crossing, was reported on the afternoon of June 13. Among the items stolen were a purse, an iPod and a Kyocera cell phone. In total, the stolen items were valued at $144, though $113 of those items was recovered.
• A Dunwoody resident reported a theft by swindle in the amount of $2,489.36 on June 14 on the 4600 block of Sharon Valley Court.
• A Sony Playstation worth $560 was reported stolen from a residence on the 1200 block of Ashford Parkway last Friday evening.
Car Theft
• A blue 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen in the early hours of June 15 from the 8300 block of Peachford Circle.
Car Break-ins
• A duffle bag was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1700 block of North Springs Drive last Thursday morning.
• A Garmin GPS and two Casio digital cameras were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4100 block of Chestnut Ridge Drive last Thursday morning. The stolen items were valued at $850.
• A Panasonic stereo valued at $150 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 6600 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard last Thursday morning.
• A car stereo (no value was documented) was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 6600 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard last Thursday morning.
• A Tom Tom GPS, Garmin GPS, and a wallet with credit cards, $30 cash and gift cards were reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on the 2500 block of Binghamton Drive last Friday afternoon.
• An iPod Touch, an Armani watch and a Kenneth Cole watch were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway on Saturday night. The items were valued at $701.
