Dunwoody Police Blotter July 24-30: Drug, Burglary and Bank Robbery Arrests

This blotter is collected from the daily crime reports and news releases from the Dunwoody Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Heroin arrests

A 22-year-old Lawrenceville man, a 34-year-old Lawrenceville man and a 28-year-old Buford woman were arrested on charges of heroin possession and prescription pills after their vehicle was pulled over in the early hours of July 27 at the 100 block of Perimeter Center East.

Aggravated assault

• A 25-year-old Jacksonville, Fla. woman was arrested in the early hours of July 25 for allegedly assaulting someone with a weapon, a felony, at McDonald’s, 4540 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., on the night of July 23.

• An aggravated assault was reported on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road in the early morning hours of July 25.

 

Burglary arrests

• Timothy Patrick Woznick, 30, of Dunwoody and Michele Honaker, 27, of Sandy Springs, , including one which occurred was reported stolen.

• A 28-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on in the early morning hours of Saturday on the 4900 block of Winters Chapel Road after police responded to a burglary call at a residence there. When police arrived, the man was inside the residence and was taken into custody. He was arrested on charges of burglary, weapons offenses and criminal trespass.

 

Bank Robbery Arrest

• A 45-year-old Alpharetta man was arrested just after noon on July 29 for allegedly robbing Fidelity Bank at 135 Perimeter Center W. of $3,579 with a handgun just a little more than two hours prior. . He admitted to the robbery.

 

Robbery

• A 24-year-old Stone Mountain man was arrested on charges of robbery by snatching for allegedly stealing $80 in cash from two juveniles at a business on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Burglary

• A burglary was reported on the 4400 block of N. Peachtree Road on the morning of July 25. A Frigid Air stove, refrigerator and microwave were reported stolen.

• A 1950 class ring, a diamond ring and costume jewelry were reported stolen from a residence on the 5400 block of Hallford Drive on the afternoon of July 25. The stolen items were valued at $2,800.

• A home was reported burglarized on the 1300 block of Winding Branch Circle on the evening of July 26. $20,500 in Sterling Silver and jewelry was reported stolen from the home.

• An attempted burglary was reported at a residence on the 1200 block of Abercorn Avenue on the night of July 26.

• A Dell laptop computer worth $800 was reported stolen from a residence on the 4800 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of July 26.

• An attempted burglary was reported on the 2300 block Delverton Drive on the afternoon of July 27.

• A Sony Blu-ray player and a set of Phillips speakers were reported stolen from a residence on the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway on the night of July 27. The items were valued at $280.

 

Shoplifting

• A 56-year-old Alpharetta woman was arrested for allegedly trying to steal $1,272.80 in jewelry from Nordstrom at the Perimeter Mall Saturday evening.

• A 28-year-old Conyers man was arrested for allegedly trying to steal a woman’s shirt worth $58 from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall on the afternoon of July 27.

• A 39-year-old Marietta woman was arrested on the afternoon of July 24 for allegedly attempting to steal $87.50 from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall.

• More than $250 in clothing was reported stolen from Old Navy, 1161 Hammond Dr. on the afternoon of July 25.

• A 32-year-old Doraville man was arrested for allegedly trying to steal two pairs of Puma shoes worth a total of $120 from Macy’s at the Perimeter Mall on the afternoon of July 26.

 

Car theft

• A white 1974 MG Midget was reported stolen from a parking lot on the 6100 block of Ashford Gables Drive in the early morning hours of July 24.

• A white 2005 Cadillac Escalade and a Samsung Evo phone were reported stolen from the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of July 25. The vehicle was valued at $20,000.

• A Kia Sportage was recovered in a parking lot on the 4500 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Road on the morning of July 26. The vehicle, which had North Carolina plates, was reported stolen out of Marietta.

• Sony woofers, a speaker case and a Sony amplifier were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center East on the afternoon of July 25. The stolen items, in total, were valued at $1,850.

• A bag of gym clothes worth $30 was reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on the 2400 block of Mount Vernon Road around noon on July 26.

• A Toshiba laptop and a backpack, worth a total of $1,510, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Old Perimeter Way on the night of July 27.

 

Car break-ins

• Several items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the afternoon of July 24. A Droid Incredible phone, a Kate Spade purse, a Michael Kors purse, and other items were reported stolen. In total the items were valued at $2,426.

• A $300 Gucci wallet, $120 in cash and several credit and ID cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of July 24.

• A Sony VAIO laptop, a Bose Bluetooth, a leather briefcase and a checkbook were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Ravinia Drive on the afternoon of July 25. The stolen items were valued at $2,155.

• A Lenovo laptop computer, a laptop bag, $500 in cash, a Texas Instruments calculator and a pair of glasses were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of July 28. The stolen items, in total, were valued at $2,051.

• A purse, wallet, $60 in cash, and several credit and ID cards were reported stolen from a car parked on the 1400 block of Mount Vernon Road last Friday afternoon.

 

Theft

• A purse, $50 cash and cards were reported stolen from a person at a restaurant at 41 Perimeter Center E. just after noon on July 25. The stolen items were valued at $70.

• A table saw, a router saw, a Shop Vac, a Craftsman tool cabinet, various tools and a six-foot ladder were reported stolen from a business on the 4000 block of Dunwoody Park on the evening of July 25.

• A Shimano mountain bike worth $350 was reported stolen on the 4700 block of Winters Chapel Road on the night of July 25.

• A dine and dash was reported at Wildfire at 94 Perimeter Center W. $63 in food and drinks were reported stolen on the night of July 26.

• A theft of $370 in cash was reported at Bebe at the Perimeter Mall on the night of July 28. A customer left a purse in a dressing room and when they came back a few minutes later the cash had been stolen out of a wallet in the purse.

• $150 in cash was reported stolen from an office on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway on the afternoon of July 27.

 

Forgery

• A 36-year-old Atlanta man was arrested for an alleged forgery at Walgreens, 5511 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., on the morning of July 28.

• A 27-year-old Sandy Springs man was arrested for allegedly trying to pass a forged check for $1,460 at a bank the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road.

• A 49-year-old Chamblee woman was arrested on July 28 for attempting to pass a fraudulent check for $1,163.58 on June 21 on the 4400 block of Chowning Way.

 

Vandalism

• A door on a residence on the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway was reported vandalized just after noon on July 28. The door was valued at $350.

• Gang graffiti was discovered by police in a men’s room at Chevron, 6900 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. on the night of July 28. Police said similar graffiti had appeared a month earlier at the same location.

 

Domestic dispute

• A domestic dispute was reported on the 2400 block of Dunwoody Crossing Friday night. A phone charger and earphones were reported broken.
