Dunwoody Police Blotter July 17-23

This blotter is collected from the daily crime reports and news releases from the Dunwoody Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Indecent Exposure

• A report of indecent exposure was made on the 5000 block of Meadowlake Drive on the morning of July 18. The suspect is the same 72-year-old Dunwoody man who was arrested in June after a neighbor saw him come out of his home several times and fondle himself with his pants down, according to police reports. Those incidents occurred on the 1800 block of Trumbull Drive.

Vandalism

• Vandalism was reported at a house on the 4700 block of Village North Court on the morning of July 18. Drywall walls were smashed with a hammer, causing $5,000 in damages.

Burglary

• $17,500 ring and a $200 bracelet were reported stolen from a home on the 2900 block of Winterhaven Court on the morning of July 19.

• Lexapro medication, watches and a teeth-whitening tray were reported stolen from a residence on the 300 block of Ashford Circle on the evening of July 19.

• A 43-year-old Atlanta man was arrested for allegedly breaking into St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 4755 N. Peachtree Rd. on the morning of July 20.

• $1,400 in cash was reported stolen from a residence on the 4400 block of N. Shallowford Road on the morning of July 20.

• A burglary was reported on the 3100 block of Garrand Place on the afternoon of July 20. No items were listed as stolen.

• A 19-year-old Doraville man was arrested on July 21 for allegedly stealing $2,115 in cash from a residence on the 4800 block of Twin Lakes Trail on the morning of July 10.

• A burglary was reported at a residence on the 5300 block of Hallford Drive on the afternoon of July 21. No items were reported stolen in the initial incident report.

• A purse with keys, a checkbook and ID and credit cards was reported stolen from a residence on the 3400 block of Azela Garden Drive on the morning of July 22.

• A burglary was reported in the early morning hours of July 23 on the 4500 block of Barclay Drive. Nothing was reported stolen in the initial incident report.

• A burglary was reported in the early morning hours of July 23 on the 2300 block of Peachford Road. Nothing was reported stolen in the initial incident report.

 

Theft

• A hubcap was reported stolen from a city-owned Ford Fusion driven by a Dunwoody Police Officer on the morning of July 20 while the car was parked at Dunwoody Baptist Church, 1445 Mt. Vernon Rd.

• Four catalytic converters were reported stolen from vehicles parked on the 100 block of Dunwoody Park on the morning of July 21. The total value of the stolen converters was $3,000.

• A Mongoose bicycle worth $100 was reported stolen from a home on the 2200 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the night of July 21.

• A purse worth $100, $8,700 in cash and an Apple iPhone 4 worth $400 were reported stolen from a restaurant at the 1200 block of Ashford Crossing.

• An HP laptop computer worth $560 was reported stolen from Office Max at 4540 Olde Perimeter Way on the morning of July 19.

• An HP 8440p laptop worth $1,300 was reported stolen from a business at the 100 block of Ravinia Drive on the afternoon of July 19.

• A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 3100 block of Asbury Square on the afternoon of July 19.

• A Sony Playstation 3, six Playstation games and a Nike backpack were reported stolen from a hotel on the 4300 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the evening of July 19. The stolen items were valued at $880.

 

Car Break-in

• A Fujitsu Siemens laptop, a laptop bag, a makeup bag and $300 in cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the evening of July 22. In total, the stolen items were valued at $24,430.

• A Tumi briefcase, Lenovo computer and a leather wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway. In total, the items were valued at $2,175.

• A backpack, an Apple Macbook, an Apple iPad, an Invicta watch and jewelry were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crowne Pointe Parkway. The items were valued at $8,100.

• An Apple laptop computer, an Escort radar and a Louis Vuitton purse were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 12100 block of Madison Drive on the morning of July 20. The stolen items were valued at $3,600.

• An HP laptop and a Swiss Army bag were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of July 20. The stolen items were valued at $1,100.

• $300 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Ashwood Parkway on the night of July 20.

• A Dell laptop worth $3,000 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway on the night of July 20.

• A Magellan GPS and a pair of Tiffany’s earrings were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 9000 block of Perimeter Trace on the morning of July 21. The stolen items were valued at $300.

• An Apple iPad worth $400 was reported stolen out of a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center Place on the afternoon of July 22.

 

Car Theft

• A white 2002 Ford Econoline van was reported stolen from the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway on the afternoon of July 21.

• A 54-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license on the afternoon of July 22. He was pulled over driving a stolen 2002 Lincoln Towncar.

 

Shoplifting

• Two Marietta women, both 18, were arrested on the afternoon of July 18 for allegedly trying to steal shorts and shirts from Macy’s at Perimeter Mall. The items were valued at $107.

• A 44-year-old Alpharetta woman was arrested on the night of July 19 for allegedly trying to steal $2,451 in jewelry, headbands, purses, wallets, a compact mirror and a business card holder from Nordstrom at the Perimeter Mall.

• A 19-year-old Duluth woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a headband, romper, blazer and sunglasses from Urban Outfitters at the Perimeter Mall on the night of July 23. The items were valued at $148.

 

Forgery

• A forgery by check was reported at a store at the Perimeter Mall on the afternoon of July 19. $1,872 in checks were passed at the store.

• A 32-year-old Romoland, Calif. woman was arrested on forgery charges on the afternoon of July 20 at Kroger on 4498 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd.

• A 45-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on charges of forgery at the Wells Fargo at 4570 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. around noon on July 23.
