Dunwoody Police Blotter Aug. 7 to Aug. 13 - Armed Robberies, AC Thefts

Armed Robbery

• An armed robbery at Applebee’s at 130 Perimeter Center Place was reported just before 10 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 8. Two thieves came in wearing some sort of facial covering, pulled out a gun and got away with $1,200 in cash.

Mugging

• A 36-year-old Dunwoody man was mugged on the 6800 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard on the night of Aug. 8. The suspect pulled out a gun and allegedly robbed the man of $500 in cash and a $150 Samsung cell phone.

Air conditioner thefts

• Three air conditioners valued at $1,000 each reported stolen from separate businesses on the 1800 block of Peeler Road on the morning of Aug. 9. ().

 

Shoplifting

• Silver valued at $1,100 was reported stolen from the Hobby Lobby, 4715 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. on the afternoon of Aug. 10.

• Recycled cardboard valued at $116 was reported stolen from the Hobby Lobby, 4715 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. on the afternoon of Aug. 10

• Three juvenile males were arrested for allegedly trying to steal $320 in clothing from Target, 100 Perimeter Center Pl. on the evening of Aug. 10.

• Two Apple iPhones valued at $649 each were reported stolen from the Apple Store at the Perimeter Mall on the night of Aug. 10.

• An Apple iPhone 4 valued at $600 was reported stolen from a business at the 100 block of Perimeter Center Place on the afternoon of Aug. 11.

• A 20-year-old Roswell man was arrested on the evening of Aug. 12 for allegedly trying to steal a pair of $19.99 shoes from Marshalls, 1131 Hammond Dr.

• A 47-year-old Riverdale woman, a 52-year-old Ellenwood man and a 46-year-old Decatur man were arrested on the evening of Aug. 12 at Wal-Mart, 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. Police were called out on a shoplifting call, when police arrived the three were in a vehicle. They were arrested on charges including open container violation while operating a vehicle, attempting to flee a police officer, shoplifting and making an improper turn.

 

Burglary

• A debit card and $1,300 in cash were reported stolen from a residence on the 200 block of Asbury Commons on the morning of Aug. 8.

• A 37-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on the morning of Aug. 8 for allegedly stealing $1,000 in cash from a residence on the 6800 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

• A Toshiba laptop computer valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from a hotel room at the 4300 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the morning of Aug. 11.

• A residence was reported burglarized on the 6100 block of Charleston Place on the afternoon of Aug. 11. Thieves used a crowbar to get into the residence. A 32-inch Samsung flatscreen television, jewelry, an Xbox 360, computer hardware and audio/visual recordings were reported stolen. The stolen items were valued at $1.151.

• A Phillips television worth $150 was reported stolen from a residence on the 1400 block of Custis Court on the evening of Aug. 12.

• An attempted burglary was reported on the 5400 block of Dunwoody Knott Court on the night of Aug. 11.

 

Car theft

• A black 2004 Ford Expedition was reported stolen from the 2400 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the afternoon of Aug. 13.

 

Drug possession

• A 29-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the morning of Aug. 7 after police pulled him over for having expired registration, and found he didn’t have a valid license and allegedly had five pills of hydrocodone and six pills of promethazine. The pull over occurred on the 100 block of Winters Chapel Road.

 

Vehicle break-ins

• A Garmin Nuvi GPS, a gym bag, a Polar heart rate monitor, running shoes, work out clothing and a leather legal binder were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 5400 block of Bunky Way on the morning of Aug. 10. The stolen items were valued at $735.

• A Garmin Nuvi GPS and a flashlight were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1200 block of Fairfield East on the morning of Aug. 10. The items were valued at $200.

• An Apple iPhone 4, a Nintendo DS and 24 games, a Tori Burch purse, a wallet, a pair of Prada sunglasses, cosmetics, cash and a pair of earrings were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1200 block of Fairfield east on the morning of Aug. 10. The total value of the stolen items was $22,423.

• A vehicle owners manual, three DVDs and a GPS case were reported stolen from a vehicle pared on the 1100 block of Wynterhall Lane on the afternoon of Aug. 10.

• A laptop bag valued at $10 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the evening of Aug. 10.

• An Acer laptop, a briefcase, an overhead projector and a Verizon wireless card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of Aug. 10. The stolen items were valued at a total of $2,211.

• A 32-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested in the early morning hours of Aug. 11 after he was spotted walking between vehicles in driveways near Tilly Mill Road and Andover Drive. When he spotted police responding, he allegedly tried to hid, but was located. He was arrested for possession of burglary tools.

• A Brooks Brothers purse valued at $100 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 5400 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Aug. 11.

• A white gold ring, a pair of white gold earrings, a leather purse and a passport were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway in the early morning hours of Aug. 11. The stolen items were valued at $3,151.

• A juvenile was arrested on larceny from a vehicle charges after allegedly trying to steal a Garmin GPS, a Taurus .40 24/7 pistol and a holster from a vehicle parked on the 5000 block of Lakeside Drive on the evening of Aug. 12. The stolen items were valued at $555.

• An iPod Touch valued at $200 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1200 block of Dunwoody Village Parkway on the afternoon of Aug. 13.

• Tools and a canvas tool bag were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 2400 block of Brandy Turk Way on the night of Aug. 13. The items were valued at $152.

• A vehicle was reported broken into on the 1200 block of Winding Branch Circle on the afternoon of Aug. 7. Nothing was reported stolen.

• $130 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Ashford Gables Drive on the evening of Aug. 7.

• A Garmin Nuvi GPS valued at $200 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of Santa Fe Station on the morning of Aug. 8.

• A Motorola cell phone, an iPod mini and cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Promontory Court on the morning of Aug. 8. The total estimated value of the items was $94.

• A vehicle was reported broken into on the afternoon of Aug. 8 on the 1100 block of Mile Post Drive. Nothing was reported stolen.

• A pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and a Canon camera were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1100 block of Atcheson Lane on the afternoon of Aug. 8. The stolen items were valued at a total of $200.

• A Dell laptop computer and a bottle of Vox Vodka were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the afternoon of Aug. 8. The items were valued at a total of $1,525.

• About $1 in change was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4800 block of Lakeside Drive in the early hours of Aug. 9.

• Cash in the amount of $5 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Dunwoody Station Drive in the early morning hours of Aug. 9.

• A juvenile was arrested on the morning of Aug. 9. for allegedly trying to break into a vehicle parked on the 5000 block of Lakeside Drive

• A Tom Tom GPS unit, an XM Radio receiver and a car stereo were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 5000 block of Lakeside Drive on the afternoon of Aug. 9. The total value for the stolen items was estimated at $600.

 

Theft

• A vehicle trailer valued at $1,300 was reported stolen on the 4800 block of Dunwoody Station Drive on the afternoon of Aug. 7.

• Molding valued at $500 was reported stolen off of a Ford Expedition parked on the 2400 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the morning of Aug. 8.

• A Dell laptop computer valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from an office on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the afternoon of Aug. 10.

• Cash in the amount of $6,000 was reported stolen from a business on the 100 block of Dunwoody Park on the morning of Aug. 12.

• A Panasonic computer valued at $3,500 was reported stolen from a building on the 4400 block of North Shallowford Drive on the morning of Aug. 8.

 

Fraud

• A 44-year-old Cumming man was arrested on Aug. 8 on two felony counts of financial transaction fraud and one count of financial transaction card theft, for an incident that occurred on June 30 at a restaurant on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Forgery

• A 20-year-old Sandy Springs man was arrested on the morning of Aug. 13 for allegedly trying to pass a forged check at Wells Fargo, 4570 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Vandalism

• A glass patio table valued at $150 was reported shattered on the afternoon of Aug. 7 at the 1200 block of Winding Branch Circle.

• A mailbox valued at $25 was reported vandalized on the morning of Aug. 8 on the 4500 block of E. Kings Point Circle.

• A gas pump valued at $100 was reported vandalized at the BP gas station at 4368 N. Peachtree Road on the morning of Aug. 9.

• A front door was reported vandalized at Dunwoody Gables, 1970 Peachford Road in the early morning hours of Aug. 10. The door was valued at $300.

• A screen window was reported damaged at a residence on the 1100 block of Santa Fe Station on the afternoon of Aug. 10. Nothing was reported stolen from the residence in the initial police report.
