Dunwoody Police Blotter Aug. 28 - Sept. 3: Burglaries, Mail Theft

Burglary

• A burglary was reported at a residence on the 1000 block of Potomac Road on the morning of Aug. 31. An electric guitar, an Apple laptop, an Apple hard drive, a Toshiba laptop, $3,500 in cash, a safe, Flatscreen TVs, a car title and two passports were reported stolen. The stolen items were valued at $8,480.

• A burglary was reported Saturday morning on the 4400 block of Tilly Mill Road. A Frigidaire refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher were reported stolen, along with women’s clothing and a flat screen television mount. The stolen items were valued at $3,350.

• A wallet, credit cards and $500 in cash were reported stolen from a residence on the 4300 block of Georgetown Square on Saturday afternoon.

• An attempted burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Chateau Drive on the morning of Sept. 1.

Shoplifting

• A 39-year-old man and 39-year-old woman, both from Decatur, were arrested for allegedly trying to steal $142.99 in merchandise from Brookstone at the Perimeter Mall. The items included a Bluetooth wireless keyboard and two manicure sets.

• A 38-year-old Smyrna man was arrested for allegedly stealing a book from Barnes and Noble, 120 Perimeter Center West. The suspect called police on the evening of Sept. 2 saying he wanted to turn himself in.

• Three Atlanta women, two age 19 and one age 20, were arrested on the afternoon of Sept. 2 for allegedly trying to steal $312 in food, makeup, clothing and stationary from Wal-Mart, 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.

• An 18-year-old Atlanta woman was arrested Saturday night for allegedly attempting to steal condoms, worth $7.99, from Wal-Mart, 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.

• An 18-year-old Decatur woman was arrested on the night of Sept. 1 for allegedly trying to steal $98 in clothing from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A juvenile was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at Dillard’s at the Perimeter mall on the evening of Aug. 28. The suspect allegedly tried to steal Nike clothing and a Betseyville purse worth a total of $240.

• A juvenile was arrested for allegedly trying to steal $482 in jewelry from Nordstrom at the Perimeter Mall on the evening of Aug. 28. The thief allegedly tried to steal several gold and silver Nadri bracelets.

• A warrant was issued a man who allegedly stolen $7,412.56 from the Hobby Lobby, 4715 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., between December 2009 and July 2011.

• A 21-year-old Sandy Springs man was arrested on the afternoon of Aug. 30 for allegedly trying to steal $214.75 in clothing from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A 19-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the evening of Aug. 30 for allegedly trying to steal a pair of $95 Polo jeans from Bloomingdale’s at the Perimeter Mall.

 

 

Car theft

• A black 2008 Kawasaki Rs motorcycle was reported stolen from the 2400 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the morning of Aug. 31.

• A turquoise 1997 Chevy 1500 truck was reported stolen from the 2300 block of Dunwoody Crossing in the early hours of Sept. 2.

 

Car break-in

• An IBM laptop worth $1,500 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Aug. 30.

• An Omega watch worth $1,400 and a credit card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1400 block of Mount Vernon Road on the morning of Sept. 1.

• A Coach purse, wallet, checkbook and credit cards were reported stolen on the afternoon of Sept. 1 from a vehicle parked on the 4700 block of North Peachtree Road. The stolen items were valued at $375.

• A Dell laptop computer worth $700 was reported stolen on the night of Sept. 1 from a vehicle parked on the 1200 block of Ashford Crossing.

• A Hartman purse, a Dell laptop, checks and an iPod Touch were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway on the afternoon of Sept. 2. The stolen items were valued at $1,701.

• A Tom Tom GPS worth $300 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center Place on the afternoon of Sept. 2.

• A Dell laptop worth $1,000 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Perimeter Center Parkway on the afternoon of Sept. 2.

• Credit cards, a driver’s license and an Apple iPod worth $100 were reported stolen on the afternoon of Aug. 30 from a vehicle parked on the 5500 block of Mill Trace Drive.

 

Theft

• Claire’s, a store at the Perimeter Mall, was reported burglarized on the morning of Aug. 28. Thieves stole $350 in cash.

• Attach, a store in the Perimeter Mall, was reported burglarized on the morning of Aug. 28. Cash, two HP laptops, several hats, a pair of MEK jeans and a pair of Supra shoes were reported stolen. The stolen items were valued at $1,985.

• A Dell computer valued at $200 was reported stolen from Emory Healthcare, 4500 N. Shallowford Rd. on the morning of Aug. 29.

• A check worth $875 was reported from a mailbox on the 1000 block of Oakpointe Place on the night of Aug. 31.

• A blue suede pouch, a David Yurman ring, a Tiffany necklance and a Nikki Lynn necklace were reported stolen from a hotel room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4355

Ashford Dunwoody Rd. on the afternoon of Aug. 31. The stolen items were valued at $1,690.

• An air conditioning unit worth $1,500 was reported stolen from a business on the 4500 block of Barclay Drive on the morning of Sept. 1.

• Identification cards, credit cards, a license and $120 in cash were reported stolen from a store at the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the morning of Sept. 2.

• Mail was reported stolen at the Broadstone at Dunwoody, 2311 Dunwoody Crossing, on the afternoon of Sept. 2.

• $1,430 in cash was reported stolen from two people at the Perimeter Mall on the afternoon of Sept. 2.

• A $300 Huffy Diamondback bicycle was reported stolen from the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Aug. 31.

• A video surveillance camera worth $150 was reported stolen from Carabba’s at 1210 Ashford Crossing on the afternoon of Aug. 31.

• A larceny from mail was reported on the afternoon of Aug. 29 at the 5200 block of Dunwoody Gables Drive. A Georgia license was reported stolen.

• A wallet with credit cards, IDs and $40 in cash was reported stolen from an office on the 4500 block of North Shallowford road on the afternoon of Aug. 29.

 

Criminal trespass

• A 20-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on the night of Aug. 30 on charges of criminal trespass. Police responded to a domestic dispute call on the 1300 block of Asbury Square where $220 in property had been damaged. The man was taken into custody at that address.

 

Impersonation of a police officer

• A 37-year-old Atlanta man was arrested in the early hours of Sept. 2 for allegedly impersonating a police officer, DUI, reckless conduct, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was pulled over on the 1800 block of Cotillion Drive.

 

Soliciting

• Two Atlanta men, one 18-years-old, the other 20-years-old, were arrested Saturday evening for allegedly begging/soliciting outside of the Perimeter Mall.

 

Gun possession

• A 30-year-old Grayson man was arrested on Saturday morning on charges of possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, marijuana possession and having an outstanding warrant. The man had a Beretta .25 caliber handgun and 8.7 grams of marijuana. He was arrested on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West.
