Dunwoody Mom Remains Calm With Intruder Steps Away

Early Monday morning, Jaime Kelly could see a shadowy figure in the kitchen and computers stacked beside the patio door.

Rather than panic, a Dunwoody mother of three outsmarted a burglar early Monday morning.

At 5 a.m., when Jaime Kelly realized someone was in her home, she got her children out of bed and before she huddled with them in her bedroom Kelly shouted, “'Oh my goodness I left the door open last night," according to a WSB-TV News report.

She could see a shadowy figure in the kitchen and computers stacked beside the patio door, the story said.

Kelly called 911 from her bedroom and within minutes police cars surrounded her home.

The alleged intruder ran out into the woods. Police arrested H.T. Smith, 22. According to the news story, investigators are checking see if Smith is tied to other nearby break-ins.

What a smart woman! not to leave the door open but to remain calm and be able to call 911 AND keep her children with her and quiet? HOW did she do that??

This is why its important to have a accessible weapon in your home, for the defense of your family and obtain a concealed carry permit to always be prepared, at all times.
