DeKalb Residents Flee Apartments After Fire Outbreak

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Residents at a DeKalb apartment complex on the 3500 block of the Buford Highway were forced from their homes at about 10 a.m. today after a fire broke out.

No deaths or injuries have been announced, but Channel 2 Action News reported that some residents had jumped from balconies while others may still be trapped.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that fire officials could be seen cutting through the roof of the Terraces at Brookhaven complex at about 11:30 a.m.

The DeKalb County Fire & Rescue could not be reached for comment regarding a possible cause of the fire.
