Common Holiday Scam and Wallet Theft Reported Thursday

Suspects hustled out of the store after bumping into a woman's cart at Ross.

A woman had her wallet stolen Thursday in what police believe was a common holiday scam that's happened several times at Perimeter area retailers.

The theft was reported at Ross at the 100 block of Perimeter Place at around 2:40 p.m.

The victim reported that two people bumped into her shopping cart, which had her purse in it.

Police say it's likely that's the distraction the suspected thieves needed to grab a wallet from the women's purse.

According to the victim, the two suspects hustled out of the store shortly afterward.
