Cashiers at Five Stores Cited for Selling Alcohol to Minors

The citations were part of a sweep conducted by Dunwoody police at 27 alcohol sales locations over the last two days.

Cashiers at five of 27 Dunwoody stores were cited over the last two days for selling alcohol to minors, Dunwoody police said.

The five locations are:

  • Exitos Latinos, 6806 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.
  • , 4639 N. Peachtree Rd.
  • , 1610 Mount Vernon Rd.
  • , 4733 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.
  • Mini Food Mart, 6890 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

The citations were part of a sweep Dunwoody police conducted over the last two days, according to a department statement. Officers used underage teenagers to purchase the alcohol. The cashiers responsible were cited and released at the scene and were educated on checking IDs and the dangers of selling alcohol to minors.

Dunwoody police said their goal is to have all stores compliant with the law.

Quote "Officers used underage teenagers to purchase the alcohol." So the police stood by while an underage person purchased alcohol, a crime in itself? Dunwoody PD needs to be careful, there have been other cities that tried this with underage decoys and got themselves into all kinds of legal troubles, something this city currently does not need.

Rob This is commonly done. In fact, in one local jurisdiction, they just used boy scouts for the same crackdown.
