Widow Insists she did not have Affair with the Man Who Killed her Husband

At times indignant, Andrea Sneiderman said Hemy Neuman manipulated her into thinking they were friends.

Andrea Sneiderman returned to witness stand Wednesday morning and continued to insist that she and the man who killed her husband never had an affair.

Sneiderman, the widow of Russell 'Rusty' Sneiderman, spent several hours on Tuesday and Wednesday detailing her relationship with her former boss, Hemy Neuman, who has admitted to killing Rusty Sneiderman.

Testimony and emails showed that Neuman, who was Andrea Sneiderman's supervisor at GE, had romantic feelings for her and proposed marriage to her at least once. She testified that they never did more than hold hands. She also said she never heard him talk or act in a way that made her think he had delusions or was mentally ill.

The prosecution called witnesses that cast doubt on her claim that she and her boss had only been friends.

A clerk from a Hampton Inn in Colorado, where Sneiderman and Neuman stayed on a business related trip, testified that Sneiderman requested a change from two rooms, with one guest to a room, to a room with one bed for two guests. A bartender from Greensville, SC, testified that she saw the pair dancing together at a club, groping each other and kissing, and looking like a happy couple.

Neuman has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the killing of Rusty Sneiderman, who was gunned down in Nov. 2010 after dropping of his child at a Dunwoody daycare center. Defense lawyers have said he had delusions and thought angels and demons spoke to him.

Prosecutors are depicting Neuman as a man who wanted to get rid of a romantic rival, and who knew right from wrong.

Debbie, I agree with you. She is not sympathetic at all! The people on the live blog that stated she is sympathetic must be watching a different trial than what you and I are watching. I also agree the money should go to the children. I am not 100% certain, however I think the insurance company can deny the entire claim if AS was involved in a conspiracy and the policy was taken out shortly before the murder. Something tells me that if the policy has not been in force for 2 years then it's possible that nobody, including the kids, would get the cash but I'm not 100% certain about this. Nonetheless, her performance (and in my mind it is no doubt just that-a staged performance) has been disgusting.
Marie February 23, 2012 at 02:04 AM
I think it would be interesting for one of the lawyers (it doesn't matter which at this point!) to ask Andrea Sneiderman why, in her opinion, Hemy killed her husband.
Marie February 23, 2012 at 03:41 AM
BTW, I find it odd that CNN.com isn't following the case AT ALL, Nancy Grace is ignoring it, Fox News has a total of two stories (one from last year, one from yesterday), ABC News has a story today that is extremely favorable toward Andrea Sneiderman. I haven't continued to look at other sites, it's just odd that some major outlets that usually jump on any little story and blow it up, are ignoring this one or spinning favorably for AS. This is in CNN's home base for heaven's sake. If they ignored all scandalous stories, then I'd not mention it. I can't help but wonder why it is being ignored.

Marie- I think Andrea might have answered that question when she accused Hemy of stalking & being obsessed with her. Andrea seems more bizarre than Hemy. Andrea encouraged Hemy's advances in emails and text messages, indicated that she will repent for her actions from a business trip for the rest of her life, dirty danced with him, & etc.. Considering these factors, Hemy was logical in assuming that they had a romantic relationship. Andrea is behaving in a guilty manner, and she is a bad actress. She described herself as wholesome. If an innocent man was not murdered, I would be laughing at Andrea's description of herself.
Mike February 23, 2012 at 05:30 AM
Danny-I agree with your assessment about Andrea being bizarre. I thought the same thing to myself, especially during Tuesday's testimony where she was describing the hidden trail behind her house and how only somebody stalking her for months could know about that. That's just one example of many. What I found bizarre during these portions of her testimony were her facial expressions and her tone of voice. She almost seemed child-like. She's a strange bird, no doubt. Again, in agreement with you, were it not for the fact that an innocent man was murdered I might find some comic relief in her disposition. As it stands, her strange demeanor was sickening, along with the curt "yup" and "nope" answers she repeatedly gave as if she was pissed that she had to testify against the man who killed her husband. I guess when you have to be in court rather than out spending $2 mill in life insurance proceeds, a widow might be a little bitter. Marie-I've also wondered why Nancy Grace wouldn't be covering this. This case seems right up her alley.

Nancy Grace is interested in women and children victims, not so much men, in my opinion. Especially a man killed by a man. My understanding is several of the "magazine" type news shows, Dateline, 20-20 etc, are in the courtroom covering this for longer pieces.
lastminutemom February 23, 2012 at 11:36 AM
Also, there is no "who dunnit" here. Neuman has confessed. Grace likes to spend her show shrieking at her guests as they throw out possible solutions to mysteries.
Andrea DeLuca February 23, 2012 at 05:28 PM
I agree with you all here. I think this whole trial is trying to get Andrea to implicate herself so they can bring charges up against her. I suspect she has been lying since the murder in her depositions and now the lawyers are setting a trap. She seems to be falling right into it. As far as Hemy we know he is guilty but what if he turns state evidence on her. This could get quite interesting. Does any one know if Andrea maintains a relationship with Rusty's family ? That could be quite telling.
Marie February 23, 2012 at 05:47 PM
I saw a reporter on a local program (11 at 7) who said that the families are NOT speaking to one another. I think this is very telling - maybe they know something not known by the rest of the public. They have been incredibly silent since last year and have only made some cryptic remarks like that they know something more but are waiting for the trial for everything to come out. They probably want custody of the children and have been advised not to jeopardize anything by talking. The reporter said that it was very interesting to watch the families sitting very near to one another considering they weren't speaking.
Rachael February 23, 2012 at 06:55 PM
I agree with what everyone has written so far. Her behaviour is very unusual for a person who was not involved in this. This is a murder based on a classic love triangle. I know sure if I got a call about a loved one and they had a cell phone, I would be dialing like mad to get a hold of them and make sure that they were ok. She is very guilty... just connect the dots...
mally February 23, 2012 at 07:13 PM
I knew Andrea years ago. The Andrea I see on the stand is the same one I knew- it's more important to her to appear to be perfect than it is to get justice for Rusty. She is a narcissist and was when I knew her. She has been arrogant on the stand because you know what narcissists do when exposed? They get angry. She is seething on the stand. Wikipedia- Reacts to criticism with anger, shame, or humiliation May take advantage of others to reach his or her own goal Tends to exaggerate their own importance, achievements, and talents Imagines unrealistic fantasies of success, beauty, power, intelligence, or romance Requires constant attention and positive reinforcement from others Easily becomes jealous Lacks empathy and disregards the feelings of others
Becky February 23, 2012 at 07:32 PM
I really believe that Andrea is the mastermind behind this murder. She wanted the insurance money and manipulated her infatuated boss to do her dirty work. I really hope that the prosecutors will be able to prove that she is involved and that she get a conviction. That type of women make me sick.
Paula February 23, 2012 at 07:58 PM
Some of you really need to stop watching CSI or Law and Order.
Bonnie February 23, 2012 at 08:06 PM
That would be sad for her children who are victims as well.
Deborah Smith February 23, 2012 at 08:38 PM
Paula: you wouldn't see the truth if it bit you. Your friend A is a cold blooded killer. She even had the man over the night before the murder--supposdedly to work on a project after coming off a vacation. Nobody believes that and non of her co-workers conduct business that way with H.N. No, this lady is guilty and it will continue to come out. She set herself up by volunteering info that the prosecutor and lead defense attorney did not even ask. And, she talked to much and so did H. They are the worst dumb killers I have ever seen. However, A. is the worst--she is the face of evil and she use H.N. because he like some "old" men couldn't get enough of a young thing!
Paula February 23, 2012 at 08:43 PM
Deborah, I don't know the lady, never met the lady, but some of you are venturing into dangerous and libelous territory here.
Deborah Smith February 23, 2012 at 11:25 PM
Did you see the news: even investigative reports from the majors are raising the same questions and speculating along the same lines. There must be something giving rise to all this speculation--I wonder! Personally, I kept an open opinion about this case until it went to trial. I am dumbfounded about the info that has come from Mrs. S. mouth. My sympathy is with R.'s parents, children and all those who loved him. If this is upsetting to you, I am sorry! But, there is one person who is no longer here, and whatever that truth is--I hope that it will give shine through like the noon day hour!
Joyce February 24, 2012 at 01:37 AM
I totally agree, my husband and I have been watching everyday, and she makes a terrible witness. She looks like a LIAR. She definitely was caught in a lie about knowing Rusty was shot, and she said on the stand, no one told her anything until she got to the hospital and the police questioned her and told her Rusty was dead as a result of being shot several times. But, her father in law, and friend, both say she told them he was SHOT before she even knew it. Come on, this lady is a LIAR who wanted her cake and to eat it too. If she really loved Rusty, she would have gone to HR and told them, he was harassing her and if they fired anyone it would have been him. Now a days, companies listen more than ever about sexual harassment. She needs to start telling the truth.
ConcernedCitizen February 24, 2012 at 01:41 AM
You have that much cash and you're worried about getting fired?
Joyce February 24, 2012 at 01:41 AM
My heart goes out to Rusty's parents, and those children. I hope justice is served and Hemy gets what he deserves, and that is not a mental hospital, and IF Andrea is involved, I hope she gets convicted, and her children get raised by Rusty's parents. She doesn't deserve them anyway, a mother should think more of her children than she seems to care. Seems like she cared more for money, and her sex life. IF her children were that much worry, she shouldn't have had any to begin with. They didn't ask to be born. Poor children. I say the kids should get insurance money placed in a trust for them for when they grow up. Andrea has enough money.
Joyce February 24, 2012 at 01:47 AM
I agree, I think Andrea has more mental issues than Hemy. She was an adult, she could definitely left the hotel he was at, if she hadn't wanted to be near him. They have more than one hotel in these towns. Come on, dancing and groping one another, she was loving this attention. Poor Rusty at home with children, keeping the home fires going, and her "NO AFFAIR ACTIONS" going on the whole time, Rusty thought she was working. They had enough money in the bank she could have survived without either person working for quite a while. IF she wanted to stop Hemy's attention to her, she could have. An old saying, "YOU LAY DOWN WITH DOGS, YOU GET UP WITH FLEAS" sounds like it suits this whole situation to me. IF she truly loved Rusty, she would have told Hemy to kiss my grits, and gone home.
Deborah Smith February 24, 2012 at 02:40 AM
I agree Joyce. Both have a narcissistic mentality. A sign should read: Buyer Beware! However, A. appeared more fragile and off her rocker than H. Again, my heart and prayers are with R.'s children, the family, and friends of R.
Mike February 24, 2012 at 04:33 AM
I agree with several of the comments here. I think the prosecutor and the defense team have set a trap for her. I wouldn't be surprised to see the prosecutor bring charges against her after this trial is over, after they have her boxed in on her story and her answers. They say a good attorney never asks a question that he doesn't already know the answer to. I found the DA's question to Andrea earlier this week about did she receive a email or text from Hemy stating that he was at a gun show a very interesting question. Andrea emphatically denied receiving anything like that and said she would have definitely remembered a message referencing a gun show. The prosecutor followed up to pin her down. I have to believe the prosecutor already had the information in hand to prove his claim and my guess is that this will come out later in the trial. Regarding the defense, I believe they are positioning Hemy to turn state's evidence and cut a better deal if his insanity defense doesn't work. How crazy would it be if Hemy springs an audio tape of himself and a "co-conspirator" discussing the murder? I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.
Deborah Smith February 24, 2012 at 07:22 AM
I agree Mike. There is definitely more to come. I wondered about the "gun show" too!
Melesia February 24, 2012 at 12:50 PM
I too was wondering why CNN is not covering this case. I think this woman is extremely manipulative and conniving! I can't image what Rusty's family is going through!
Melesia February 24, 2012 at 01:00 PM
I would not be surprised that if Hemy is found guilty of murder (not insanity) that the prosecutors don't offer him some type of deal to reduce his sentence to testify against Andrea.
Joyce February 24, 2012 at 01:56 PM
I agree Melesia, I believe that is exactly what will happen. The DA is gonna want to put Andrea away for this too. I wish they had court on the weekend. Come on 9:00 can't wait for the truth to come out. I wish I was on that jury.
Joe Bleau February 24, 2012 at 07:02 PM
Regarding little media coverage.... Is it possible it's because Hemy worked for GE?
Steve Smith February 25, 2012 at 01:27 AM
Yes, the one time in my life I would like to be on a jury and I don;t live in Dekalb!! She will go down, I would bet moeny on it.
Steve Smith February 25, 2012 at 01:32 AM
And.....Who in the world who is athe victim's spouse hangs around the court hassling people called to testify? Where is her attorney during all these antics? Did he know she would potentially give conflicting statements? I am betting they have the goods on her and he day is coming. Sure appears she has forgotten the victim and her own kids. An absolutely pathetic person...
