Accountant Pleads Guilty to Stealing $144,000 from Dunwoody Baptist Church

The former accountant would have to repay the money and serve a 20-year sentence, a DeKalb judge ruled.

A former accountant for Dunwoody Baptist church pleaded guilt to taking $144,000 in unauthorized funds from the church, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Patricia Padgett received a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty to four counts of theft by taking in the courtroom of DeKalb Superior Court Judge Tangela Barrie, accordiong to the report.

Pagdet was ordered to repay most of which she is accused of taking from the local church.
