Retired Army Veteran Mourned

Charles Nama served in the U.S. Army for 37 years. After retiring from Norfolk Southern Railway, he volunteered at Suthers Center for Christian Outreach.

Charles Nama of Brookhaven died suddenly on Oct. 2.  He was 75.

Nama was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United State Army from 1961 to 1998, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway, an obituary by H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel said. In retirement, Nama volunteered at the Suthers Center for Christian Outreach. 

Married 44 years, he is survived by his wife Mary Ann and several children and grandchildren in the Atlanta metro area.

Funeral services were held at St. Martin's Episcopal School on Ashford Dunwoody Road. Donations to the Suthers Center for Christian Outreach are encouraged, 3550 Broad Street, Suite F, Chamblee, Ga. 30341.
