HORRIBLE, DISHONEST, UN-RESPONSIBLE business ethics! They just ruined my daughter's prom dress! We needed basic hemming on a new floor length traditional gown, which my mother for the "alterations" lady (my mother is a skilled seamstress but is out of town). We took the gown in one morning last week, securely hung in it's zippered garment bag, with instructions to simply hem the gown where pinned with its original handkerchief style hem. She called that same day asking us to come back in for pinning...? As we were out of town, we went in a few days later to have her re-pin the hem.
She pulled the $500 gown out of a laundry knapsack and handed the balled up gown to my daughter...I asked her why it was haphazardly crammed into a knapsack and she said, "No worry, I steam" which was my least concern since the beaded bodice had probably stuck to itself & pulled runs in the gown's gauzy skirt! When my daughter put the dress on she saw it had already been hemmed: what was a floor-length dress was now cut 6-8" from the floor, high above the ankles AND the back of the dress drug the floor....We were in shock! I asked the lady what she had done: "You want hi-lo, that what you say" Needless to say it was downhill from there. She insisted the dress was fine, was done to our specifications, and she didn't see what the problem was. She offered NO apology of any kind, and dismissed us standing there as if it weren't her problem. Prom is in 3 days, my daughter's dream dress is RUINED by not only being cut way to short, it also has a hem that irregular, upside down in some places and looks like it was done by a blind 4-year old. She is not offering to take ANY responsibility, not even a verbal apology. STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!
