Women's Health Fair this weekend

Local church invites local communities to learn about nutrition and women's health

The North Atlanta Church of Christ wants to be a church that makes a difference in the Dunwoody and Sandy Springs communities.

So, the women’s ministry met in the fall to talk about programs that they could offer for the community-at-large.

One of the brainstorms that came out of the event was a women’s health fair, comprehensive in scope and available to all women in the area.

Many of the sessions will be translated to Spanish and Portuguese.

Field experts will speak at the fair. The Radiology Clinic of Georgia will send a speaker to talk about radiology and other approaches to breast cancer treatment. A session on self-breast exams will be offered, using breast implants as demonstrations.

The Atlanta School of Massage is providing trainees who will give free chair massages.

Businesses related to health care will also be at the event.

There will also be presentations available concerning the planning, shopping and preparation of healthy snacks and meals on a budget.
