Kroger Customers Raise More Than $642K for Local Food Banks

From Nov. 17 through Dec. 24, Kroger customers in Dunwoody and throughout the Atlanta Division supported the annual campaign by purchasing $1, $3 and $5 icons.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division customers – which includes Dunwoody and all of Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina – contributed more than $642,700 in just six weeks to Kroger’s 2013 Can Hunger Campaign.

From Nov. 17 through Dec. 24, Kroger customers supported the annual campaign by purchasing $1, $3 and $5 icons. Each icon purchased benefits Feeding America food banks and helps to provide local families in need with approximately 3.9 to 19.5 meals. The donations collected during the campaign surpassed the Division’s $500,000 goal by $142,700.

“We are extremely grateful to all of our customers and associates who generously contributed to the Can Hunger campaign,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Every donation goes a long way toward helping our friends and neighbors in the communities we serve.”
