Community Corner

HOLIDAY EXECUTIVE RECEPTION

Registration is open for the Atlanta CEO Council year-end holiday event supporting Junior Achievement of Georgia. The event will be at 6:30 pm Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Discovery Center, inside the Georgia World Congress Center. All funds raised during the event will support the JA Discovery Center and future programming for Atlanta youth. The event is open to the community and offers a unique opportunity to attend an exclusive Atlanta CEO Council event and mingle with key local business executives.

Attendees will have the option to tour the newly opened space. This 50,000-square-foot learning facility located in the Georgia World Congress Center provides metro Atlanta middle school students the opportunity to gain practical experience in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness. While at the JA Discovery Center, students visit “storefronts” sponsored by various companies and organizations in the Atlanta area. The Atlanta CEO Council is a co-collaborator for stArTLe, a storefront designed to educate students about entrepreneurship and startups while being introduced to careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Other stArTLe collaborators include the Advanced Technology Development Center of Georgia Tech, Coles College of Kennesaw State University, Entrepreneur’s Organization, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Technology Association of Georgia and Atlanta Tech Village.
