Weekender: Pike Nurseries Holds Potting and Rose Care Party

- Spanish Jewish Exhibit. The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta presents “Pink Rice: Recollections of Atlanta’s Spanish Jewish Community,” with paintings by Betty Franco Handmacher in its Katz Family Mainstreet Gallery. The exhibit runs through Sept. 30.
- Gardening Guidance at Pike Nurseries. All Pike Nurseries locations will host a potting party and rose care class Saturday and Sunday where gardening experts will help create the perfect container garden for your front step or patio – or terrarium for your office or kitchen.
- Peaceful Retreat. Kadampa Meditation Center is offering a Peace of Mind Day Retreat from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday. The includes sessions of teachings and meditation. The cost is $35.
- Old School Concert at Chastain. R&B artist Al B. Sure, After 7, Color Me Badd and Heads of State perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
- Comedian Ken Rogerson. The stand-up comic performs at The Punchline through Sunday. In the attached CNN video, Rogerson uses his sense of humor to frankly talk about overcoming his drug addiction. Visit The Punchline website for his weekend showtimes.
