Sneiderman's Lawyers Say Charges Still Too Vague

Lawyers for Andrea Sneiderman insisted Tuesday at a pre-trial hearing that the charges against her are still too vague.

Sneiderman is the Dunwoody woman accused of having a romantic relationship and conspiring with her former boss, Hemy Neuman, to have her husband killed in 2010. Sneiderman has denied having any involvement in her husband’s death and having any romantic ties to Neuman, who is serving a life sentence for the shooting death of Rusty Sneiderman.

In May, a judge dismissed four non-murder charges against Sneiderman because the charges were deemed too vague. In late-May, Sneiderman was indicted for a third time, but her lawyers argue that the charges are still unspecified.

“What is she supposed to have done?” John Petrey, an attorney for Andrea Sneiderman, was quoted saying in this Atlanta Journal-Constitution article. “The state has only said she is party to a crime.”

Prosecutors said the charges meet the legal standards and that Sneiderman is being tried on statements made to authorities, which they believe to have been false and intended to mislead their investigation of her husband’s death.

A judge is expected to rule on the motions next week, and Sneiderman’s trial is July 29.
