Recent Crimes in Dunwoody

Incidents include recent burglaries.

Information provided by the Dunwoody Police Department Facebook page and Sgt. Mike Carlson. 

• There were two separate reports of a suspicious male in the area of Kings Point Circle (Dunwoody North). The subject was observed walking up to a home, knocking on the front door and when no one answered he then looked into a window. The subject was described as a black male wearing a royal blue baseball cap. He was driving a shinny Ford Mustang with a white racing stripe. *We’re very appreciative that these incidents were reported to us; however, there was a slight delay in reporting them. REMEMBER…When in doubt…call 911 immediately. If anyone sees this suspect or this vehicle call 911 immediately and report it. If you’re able to safety copy the tag number please do so.

• On Monday morning officers were directed to monitor the intersection of Mount Vernon Road and Trailridge Way for people failing to yield. A few citations were issued to violators. Officer Forman also arrested a subject for driving without a license. Officers will continue to monitor this intersection.

• Officer Forman located and arrested a subject wanted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on fraud related felony warrants.

• Officer Irwin arrested two adult females after they shoplifted clothing from Target. The females thought they made a clean getaway but a sharp-eyed loss prevention officer was able to copy a tag number and officers from Sandy Spring PD and Dunwoody paid a visit to their apartment. The female suspects sold the clothing at a Plato’s Closet on Roswell immediately after the “shopping spree”.

• There were three reported daytime residential burglaries/thefts.
1. 5000 block of Tilly Mill Road

2. 5100 block of Winters Chapel Rd

3. 5300 block of Saffron Dr. (theft from a carport only)

• There was a reported entering auto in the parking lot of the Twisted Taco where a car window was shattered and a laptop was stolen.

• Officer Barrett & Officer Patrick arrested a subject who walked up to them. It was obvious to the officers that the subject under the influence of marijuana. When asked about it, the subject handed
