Pet of the Week

Isabelle was found abandoned

Each week on Dunwoody Patch, we let you know about a dog that’s right here in Dunwoody that’s ready to be adopted.

Here’s Isabelle, a young adult, 80 pound Rottweiler mix that was found abandoned near Peachtree Middle School.

The dog was first taken to DeKalb County’s animal shelter for 20 days. The breed is one of the first to be put down in normal situations, but people there knew that the dog would be rescued if the owner wasn’t located and kept her safe.

Isabelle has all the basics taken care of. She’s fully vetted, spayed and is in a foster home while she waits for adoption.

You can see more photos of her here.

The organization that rescued the dog is called Mercy for Georgia’s Homeless Pets. If you want to adopt, foster or contribute to the organization, email or call Hannah Wildner at hmwildner@comcast.net 770-451-3809.
