Ga. 400 Ramp Opens Early

GDOT wrapped up construction on the northbound ramp of Ga. 400 at Abernathy Road.

Georgia Department of Trasportation crews have finished widening the northbound Ga. 400 ramp at Abernathy Road to ease congestion along the commuter route into Perimeter, wsbtv.com reports.

The $2 million project was paid for with excess revenues from Ga. 400 tolls, according to the report.

The Ga. 400 corridor is essential for the thousands of people that enter the Perimeter area in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs on a daily basis.

“We are the corporate center of the southeast United States and transportation matters,” said Yvonne Williams, president and CEO of the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts.

The project wasn’t expected to be completed until th beginning of the year, but was finished ahead of schedule.
