Full MARTA Info for Fourth of July Events, Braves Game

Helpful information for Dunwoody travelers.

MARTA will operate special event service to accommodate the Peachtree Road Race, Braves game, fireworks displays and other holiday events.   

Fares are $2.50 each way, plus a $1 charge for a permanent Breeze card.

An announcement said that due to the large crowds that are expected, customers are advised to purchase a round-trip fare at the beginning of their trip to avoid long lines on the return. Temporary Breeze paper tickets will also be sold for cash only at high traffic stations throughout the system to assist in expediting travel. A list of these stations is provided below.

MARTA will operate a special rail schedule with 10-minute service (5-minute headways between Lindbergh and the Airport Stations) added throughout the day to accommodate the celebrations.

Additional staff and police will be out in full force to assist customers. The MARTA Police Department is working hand-in-hand with local, state and federal partners, the statement said. 

Peachtree Road Race participants can take the Gold Line train to Lenox Station or the Red Line train to Buckhead Station for the start of the race. Shuttle buses will also be available at Lindbergh Center Station before the race to transport runners close to the starting line (Buckhead Loop) and at Midtown station after the race to bring participants back to Lindbergh Center Station.

Parking for less than 24 hours is free at all MARTA’s daily parking facilities. Customers parking in the decks at Lindbergh Station must park in MARTA designated areas and validate their parking ticket at machines inside Lindbergh Center Station in order to receive free daily parking. 

MARTA has some designated lots, which charge a fee including lots at Lenox, Brookhaven, Kensington, and College Park Stations.   

Some bus routes will be re-routed for the Peachtree Road Race and other scheduled events. These bus routes are listed below.

MARTA will operate a Sunday bus schedule on Thursday, July 4. On Friday, July 5, MARTA will operate a regular weekday schedule on bus and rail.

Start of Race: Runners can take the Gold Line to Lenox Station or the Red Line to Buckhead Station.   

End of Race: Midtown Station

The Braves Shuttle picks up at Steve Polk Plaza next to Underground Atlanta.

Some slight delays are expected on Routes 1 and 51 during this event.

Breeze Ticket Sales (Cash only; change can be provided.):

  • From 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., round-trip tickets will be sold at Dunwoody, Doraville, Chamblee and College Park Stations. 
  • From 5:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., round-trip tickets will be sold at North Springs and Sandy Springs Stations while supplies last. 
  • From 4:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., one-way tickets will be sold at Midtown Station and from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., one-way tickets will be sold at Arts Center Station.
