Welcome to "Five Things You Need to Know for the Weekend," a Dunwoody Patch column that sifts through the long list of events competing for your time to offer our pick of five things worth doing with your time off.

1. Dance for a good cause. is inviting school families as well as Dunwoody residents to participate in the national competition, for which families can win as much as $5,000 and, by way of winning, help send a $30,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Participants are asked to submit a 30 second home video of their family’s best dance moves. Videos can be uploaded at www.FamilyDanceoff.com

Entries can be submitted until March 19. Judges will pick 14 finalists, of which they’ll pick first through third place winners. For more information, .

2. The l wrestling team hosts its wrestling tournament this weekend at the highs school. The tournament starts Friday at 5 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9 a.m. The Boys and Girls Basketball teams head to Tucker High School Friday night. Girls play at 5:30 and boys play at 7.

3. Knock down some pins for the Wildcats baseball team.

The Dunwoody high School Diamond Club will be hosting the Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., at Brunswick Bowling, 6345 Spalding Dr., Norcross.

$10 includes shoes and bowling for two hours.

4. For those with tickets, Friday night is a good opportunity to support the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at the at the .

The event, which is now sold out (there are no tickets at the door), features food from dozens of local restaurants. An auction on site will also have a silent auction and live music.

5. Check out the new exhibit at the .

“align,” the exhibit, features 14 artists, opens Saturday (the opening reception happens Thursday night from 6 to 9 p.m.).

The exhibit explores the use of line in painting, drawing, photography and alternative media.
