Dunwoody Rotarian's Idea Grows to Help Thousands in Africa

The third annual Rotary Family Health Days in Africa happened last month.

A Rotary Club of Dunwoody member's idea has resulted in tens of thousands of people in Africa getting much-needed health services.

The details of Marion Bunch's concept, which gave birth to Rotarians for Family Health and AIDS Prevention, and its most recent Rotary Family Health Days in Africa, are detailed in a Rotary.org article.

Members from 365 Rotary clubs helped medical personnel in South Africa, Uganda and Nigeria deliver services such as health screenings and immunizations at the Health Days event, according to the Rotary report.

A number of partners have worked with Rotarians for Family Health and AIDS Prevention (RFHA), including the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Delta Airlines, the article states.
