Dunwoody Plans Parade for Brook Run Trail Grand Opening

The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Dunwoody will mark the grand opening of the first phase of Brook Run Trail with a parade.

The Wheel-a-Palooza and Pedal Parade grand opening event begins at 10 a.m. at the Brook Run Park trail entrance, between the playground and skate park, on Saturday, August 3.

The event will include a bike/vehicle decorating contest judged by local celebrities.

To register for the event, send your name, age, and type of vehicle to parks@dunwoodyga.gov. You do not have to participate in the contest to participate in the parade.

Children ages 12 and younger are invited to decorate their bike, wagons, scooters, or wheelchairs to compete for the top prize in the following children’s categories: Most Colorful; Most Creative, and; Best Theme.Β  Teens and adults can also join in the competitive vehicle decoration and one award for the Most Creative entry in this age group will be given to one lucky participant.

Also, King of Pops will be on hand with those yummy frozen gourmet popsicles everyone has come to love.
