Hotel Equities Honors Ruth Kornegay with the Prestigious Lighthouse Award

Hotel Equities (HE) recently honored Ruth Kornegay with the firm’s prestigious Lighthouse Award.   Ms. Kornegay has served as the Executive Assistant to Fred Cerrone, Hotel Equities’ President and CEO for more than 16 years.

Hotel Equities’ Chaplain Greg Smith and Mr. Cerrone made the presentation to Ms. Kornegay, only the sixth recipient of the award in the firm’s 25-year history.  The award includes a check for $1,000 that the recipient may donate to the charity of her choice.

“Ruth has touched my life and the lives of many of our nearly 1,000 associates with her caring spirit as well as her extraordinary organizational skills,” said Mr. Cerrone.  “She serves everyone with a warm, friendly smile and is a living example of the ‘whatever-it-takes’ attitude.”

Given as very special recognition, the Lighthouse Award honors outstanding service to others and, as stated on the award plaque, it is presented “in recognition of making a difference in the lives of other people by demonstrating a sacrificial and exemplary spirit and by being a shining example to all who embrace the Biblical mandate of being salt and light in a world of darkness.”

In addition to her corporate duties, Ruth organizes and distributes a weekly devotional to a group open to all interested women in the firm.  She also facilitates prayer requests to the HE Prayer Team on behalf of the Chaplain.  She is always willing to lend a helping hand.
