Reports: Sam's Club Will Cut 2% of It's Workforce

There are 23 Sam's Clubs in Georgia.

Walmart will lay off around 2,300 Sam’s Club employees, according to multiple media reports. CNBC first reported the cuts on Twitter on Friday.

That’s about 2 percent of the division’s 116,000 employees, and its first large-scale layoff since 2010, when 10,000 were let go as the company outsourced its food demonstations in stores.

The cuts are expected to impact assistant managers and hourly employees.
