Readers Sound Off on Right-Wing Restaurants List -- Do You Agree?
Two Atlanta area chains -- Waffle House and Chick-fil-A -- have made a website's list of 5 right-wing restaurants. And Patch readers have weighed in with their views.
Two Georgia-based fast-food chains -- Waffle House and Chick-fil-A -- top a new list on Salon.com about “right-wing food companies.” And Patch readers have weighed in on the label.
Some readers support the companies, some disagree with the owners' views but still spend their money with the chains, and others criticized some of the two chains' business practices.
Author and Alternet blogger Lauren Kelley calls the owners of Norcross-based Waffle House and Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A “far right-wingers who have spent “significant money opposing gay rights, abortion rights, and other important causes and funding attack ads against left-leaning politicians.”

Patch reader Ron wrote: "I don't have the same bigoted views as the owners of those restaurants but I do still eat there. They are entitled to their views even if their views aren't based on tolerance, logic, equal rights, or science."
Erin T. McLaughlin posted: "A true American action is to simply boycott those companies that you don't support the beliefs of."
Bd Cat said: "Left wing, right wing, "chicken wing", each has a right to their opinion and beliefs. Leave the politics out of choice of food establishments. If you do not want to eat there ,don't."
