O'Brian's Tavern: An English-Style Pub Worth Raising a Glass For

The company was relaxed, the service was excellent, and the bar's theme has that expensive, rich feel of an upscale English Pub - with its tartan theme and a lot of heart.

We've recently written about the newest restaurant from the Dunwoody Resturant Group. Check out the link here.

It's pretty extensive and in it we ask for your opinions about the new, classically decorated, and the easy, comfortable setting of the restaurant.

Here's the link that's a pretty good overview. But we recently hung out there and wanted to bring you some photos and first-hand opinions of the pub.

Onto the menu, which is not yet completed online. But, they have a grilled cheese and lobster sandwich, so you get the idea that this is upscale fare.

I can tell you a little more more about the beer menu - the draft brew selections are extensive - and the helpful wait staff can guide you to what you have a taste for.

Impressively True Black and Tans (Guiness over Bass) can be found, as well as Boddington's Ale and, of course, Jameson's Whiskey - good for Catholics and Protestants alike, in my opinoin.

But the debate rages about that whiskey, of course. Something to do with Catholics and Protestants. I'm sure it will all be resolved soon.

What do you think of what you see? Looking for a neighborhood bar in east Dunwoody? Leave us a comment, we need to know.

Jennifer pours a perfect Vodka Martini with a drop of scotch.

Anyone have any other favorite drinks from this gin joint?

O'Brians has done a very nice build out. It is an excellent addition to a struggling shopping center. I know all my Kingsley friend are enjoying it too.

This place is like Cheers in the TV show! Literally everybody knows your name. The variety of beers is impressive (Scotch Ale is my favorite), the menu is advernturous, and the wait staff and management are SUPERB!!! It is my favorite place to spend a Friday or Saturday nite. So glad they're here!

Sure would be nice to have some other choices in this area and some new business where ACE has been vacant for years. Looks like a recession center. We want Chick-fil-A in this area as soon as possible and a nice user for the ACE too. Come on whoever is in charge, get the lead out. Filling in empty spaces will help everyones business do better.

Great venue and a really good and approachable serving and barstaff. Food was as good as any of the other taverns. Looking forward to making this my regular hangout.
