It's A Deal: Readers' Choice Winner Offers a Discount?

It might seem generous to get a deal after the current publicity for Dunwoody's favorite ristorante, but - oh, heck - go save some dough on some osso bucco.

Alright, Dunwody likes good food, right? Well, I do, so we're going to say yes for everyone.

Call it luck or fortunate timing, but after Carbonara Trattoria recently won Dunwoody Patches' Readers' Choice top spot, there is a Scout Mob deal running that's a bit of a steal. It's for Wednesday, per the ad.

Here's the catch. You must be smart-phone savvy. That means you need the Scout Mob app, and once you download it, you'll be thankful, in my opinion. It searches for deals in your area, there's no pre-buying coupons - it makes life easier and cheaper; I'm a fan of both.

Background From the Scout Mob Advertorial: A father-and-sons trio is behind the Italian ristorante They opened in September.Β  Here's what's on there menu - not the regular pasta and meatballs or garlic bread (although that might have made the list too) but risotto, osso bucco and authentic pasta dishes that are light on the Ragu. (Nothng against Ragu, I lived off it as a kid.)

For the adults, you can put a martini "firmly in your hand," says the ad.

This restaurant bills itself as fine-dining establishment that avoids the trip to Buckhead and the sometimes heavy price associated with the trip. It's also billed as a first-date impresser and a family-friendly meeting place. Both sound real nice. Oh yeah, good red wine flows freely.

Menu Highlights: Bruschetta, $8; Spaghetti Carbonara, $13; Seafood Linguini Fra Diavolo, $19; Lasagna, $15; Veal Piccata, $19

Hours:
Lunch: Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.Β ; Dinner; Monday - Thursday, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Friday & Saturday, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Remember the fine print for Scout Mob, before you think you're going to take the ristorante for all it's worth. There's a $20 max discount. Dine-in only. One coupon per table. 18% gratuity may be added. And you can't combine any competing offers.

Hey, it's just the way the world works.
