Dunwoody Police Tipped to Risky Game

Youngsters who are suspected to be Peachtree Middle School students were reported to be playing "chicken" with cars on Peachford Road.

Dunwoody Police received a disturbing complaint from a concerned resident Monday.

A resident told police that youths were playing chicken with passing motorists on Peachford Road. She reported that two different times she was forced to slam on her brakes to avoid hitting youths who ran out into Peachford Road, police posted on the department's Facebook page.

Police say they think the youngsters might be students from Peachtree Charter Middle School. Peachtree Middle School is located on 4600 North Peachtree Road.

Officers patrolling around Peachford Road stopped and spoke to a group of students, who tipped police to the youths who may have been playing the risky game, police said.

An assistant principal at Peachtree Middle School agreed to follow up with students suspected of being involved.

Police are asking people who travel along Peachford Road before and after school to slow down and use caution.
