Dunwoody Drivers Pay 4 Percent More for Car Insurance Compared to State Average

Dunwoody is one of the more expensive cities in Georgia for car insurance, according to one study.

ValuePenguin surveyed the state to find the cheapest rates by comparing premiums in 30 cities. Its sample driver profile was a 30-year-old single male, who drives a 2010 Toyota Camry, is an employed homeowner with excellent credit, has a clean driving record and drives 10,000 miles a year, mainly to work.

Dunwoody ranked 20th for car insurance rates in Georgia, with an average annual premium of $1,133, 4 percent more than the state average of $1,090.

Valdosta was the cheapest at $885, and Atlanta the most expensive at $1,263.

Generally speaking, drivers in more densely populated areas pay more for insurance in Georgia, the survey said.
