Tonight: Queens College Hillel A Capella Group will Perform at MJCCA

Group will perform one night only – Jan. 16.

 

Tizmoret, a Queens College Hillel's a cappella group, will be performing at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta next month.

Tizmoret's 16 members, directed by Daniel Henkin, includes some professionals and some students from colleges across New York City, well versed in American and Israeli pop tunes as well as in traditional Jewish songs and liturgical music, using no instruments – the percussion effects are all vocal as well.

The group has produced four CDs, with their most recent release, “Transitory,” receiving critical acclaim in contemporary Jewish and secular a cappella circles.

The concert will be held on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Morris & Rae Frank Theatre at the MJCCA.

Tickets are $13 for general admission, and $10 for MJCCA members.
