- Vanderlyn Elementary Meet & Greet
When/Where: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (depending on grade) Friday at , 1877 Vanderlyn Dr.
Why go: Vanderlyn Elementary School families can get class assignments and meet teachers. Parents must bring ID to receive class assignments. Assigned times are as follows: 4th and 5th grade is 8 to 9 a.m., 3rd Grade is 9 to 10 a.m., 2nd grade is 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., 1st grade is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Kindergarten is 1 to 2 p.m. with a Kindergarten Popsicle social for new and returning families from 2 to 2:30 p.m.

- Storytime with Miss Caitlin

Why go: Children 5 years old and younger can enjoy stories and crafting with Miss Caitlin. Books and crafts change each week.

- Kids Fishing Day
When/Where: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at Chattahoochee River/ Island Ford Station, 1978 Island Ford Pkwy
Why go: Children will learn how to fish like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn with a cane pole and a cork bobber.

- Shabbat Splash and Sing-a-long
When/Where: 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at , 5342 Tilly Mill Rd (Pool and Splash Pad)
Why go: The MJCCA (Zaban) invites you to a Shabbat Splash and Sing-a-Long pool party with Rabbi Brian Glusman. You and your children, ages 2 - 6, are invited to join Rabbi Glusman at the MJCCA pool and the Barbara & Ed Mendel Splash Park for a Saturday afternoon of singing and swimming – all in the celebration of Shabbat. Children will enjoy complimentary challah, grape juice, and ice pops. The sing-a-long will begin at 3:15 pm.
