“We just thought it was good cause that our children could understand and support,” said Andrea Byers, mother to Hannah and Samantha.

Now in their third year of hosting an annual lemonade stand one Saturday each June, their stand has expanded to include four families with a total of eight kids.

Parents and children alike have a great time squeezing the lemons so the tradition continues of making freshly squeezed lemonade and homemade baked goods for the stand.

When the kids were asked what they like about the lemonade stand and why they help with the stand, here were their responses: Hannah and Samantha Byers enjoy helping other kids while having fun with friends and family.  Carter and Olivia Matulich are very excited to work with the Lemonade Stand again this year because it is helping kids with cancer feel better. Eric and Riley Mied are glad they are providing an opportunity to find a cure to pediatric cancer and if they were sick with cancer they would want someone to help them.

"I like that the lemonade stand is fun and that it helps other kids with cancer get better," said Kendall Doody.

The Alex's Dunwoody Lemonade Stand has raised over $1,200 in 2 years and is part of a group of 18 stands in Ohio and Illinois that have collectively raised over $50,000 in six years for pediatric cancer research and treatment. Support a good cause and enjoy some delicious lemonade, treats and fun this Saturday.

The Annual Dunwoody Lemonade Stand is this Saturday, June 4 between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5218 Forest Springs Drive.
