Weekend Planner: The Holiday Edition

Drink some egg nog, grab a warm sweater and head out this weekend to a bunch of Yuletide events.

Has the holiday season hit you yet? If yes, good for you! If not, there are plenty of things going on this weekend that are postively festive!

From the Spruill Art Gallery holiday sale, to a run to work off the Christmas ham in advance, and some Christmasy fun at Perimeter Mall that focus on Moms, Dads and kids. We hope it will put you in the holiday spirit!

Spruill Gallery on Ashford Dunwoody Road is continuing its holiday market Saturday. Have a hard-to-buy-for person that’s still sitting on your list? Want to get your girlfriend something special – like handmade jewelry? Head on out to the historic house and see what you can hunt up.

With Christmas just a few short days away, anticipation is rising on the arrival of St. Nick. But we hear Santa has a sideline gig at Perimeter Mall where kids can visit Saturday and Sunday, tell Santa all of their hopes and dreams, and get a picture – you know, for Mom and Dad.

Want to exercise? You can head off the belt-loosening Christmas meal with a little exercise Saturday. The Atlanta Christmas 5K Run and Walk  starts at 1063 North Highland near Morningside Presybterian Church. Registration closed Dec. 11. So if you’re not registered for the race, head down and share the holiday spirit. Special treat – Skinny Santa will start the race.

Need something for the kids to do at the mall Saturday so Mom and Dad can shop? This is cool. A traditional bell choir will meet at 3 p.m. Don’t be intimidated, no experience is necessary. By the end, you learn a song and perform a holiday song.
