Summer Camp Registration About to Open at Dunwoody Nature Center

All of the full day camps at the Nature Center will be bringing in guest experts to further enhance the camp experience and broaden the camper's understanding of the natural world.

Dunwoody Nature has released its complete camp schedule. Camp-goers will be in newly renovated facilities including the main education building, playhouse, Foxes Den, and Teepee. 

All of the full day camps at the Nature Center will be bringing in guest experts to further enhance the camp experience and broaden the camper’s understanding of the natural world, an announcement said. Planned visits include specialists in snakes, reptiles, bugs, musical guests, Native American historians, beekeepers, birds of prey handlers and others.

Both early drop off and late pick up are available for parents or children who just want a little extra fun.

Fast Facts about camps at the Nature Center:

  • 5 different themes running May 27th through August 15th
  • 8 new camp themes and 7 returning “camper favorites.”
  • Registration begins February 1st for Members and February 15th for non-members.
  • Full day camps for rising Kindergarten through 5th grade; Half day camps for 3 and 4 year olds.
  • Over 700 campers served during the summer.
  • Early drop-off available beginning at 8:15 a.m. for Early Birds.
  • Late pick up available until 5:30 a.m. with the Games of Strategy session.
  • Junior Ranger program and two additional camps at Island Ford on the Chattahoochee River.
  • 100 percent of parents surveyed from last summer’s camps would recommend the Nature Center camps to a friend.
