Fourth of July in Dunwoody - Parade, Games, Music, Food and a Dunk Tank

Monday will be a day to celebrate Independence day, and dunk your public officials

July 4th is Monday, and that means Dunwoody is gearing up for its annual Independence Day Parade.

The parade, which is put on by the Dunwoody Homeowner's Association and the Dunwoody Crier, runs 2.7 miles and will include marching bands, floats, clowns and local celebrities (including actor Kip Pardue).

The Grand Marshall of the Parade will be Dick Williams, Publisher of the Crier.

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Road, and continues west down Mt. Vernon to the Dunwoody Village parking lot. 

Games, ceremonies, music and the dunk tank will follow in the parking lot.

11:30 a.m. - Doug Thompson, City Councilman

11:40 a.m. - Bob Lundsten, Chief of Staff for Elaine Boyer

11:50 a.m. - Robert Wittenstein, City Councilman

Noon - Nancy Jester, DeKalb County School Board Member 

12:10 p.m. - John Heneghan, City Councilman

12:20 p.m. - Bob Dallas, candidate for Mayor

12:30 p.m. - Joe Hirsch, city council critic, open records advocate

12:40 p.m. - Mike Davis, candidate for Mayor
