Five Things to Do This Weekend (March 25-27)

Car Shows, Singers, Kids Cooking, the Vanderdash and DHS Hall of Fame Inductions

Welcome to "Five Things You Need to Know for the Weekend," a Dunwoody Patch column that sifts through the long list of events competing for your time to offer our pick of five things worth doing with your time off.

1.Get those running shoes on, or just cheer on your friends and neighbors at the . The PTA fundraiser for Vanderlyn Elementary starts with the 5k run at 7:30 a.m. at the school. A 1 mile fun run follows at 8:30 a.m. and a tot trot at 9 a.m.

2. Get an autograph from Bobby V. The Atlanta singer will be signing autographs at the Wal-Mart at 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Saturday at 3 p.m.

Bobby V’s newest album ‘Fly on the Wall’ was released Tuesday.

3. Go for a Sunday drive. The Dunwoody Driving Club is putting on its Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dunwoody Country Club. Members and non-members are invited to show off their vintage and antique sports cars. 

4. Let the kids make their own food. Maggiano’s Little Italy is hosting the monthly put on by the Perimeter chef Team. Kids five and older and welcome, and adults are required to attend with their children. Kids will learn how to mix, spread and tase ingredients. The event starts at 10 a.m. and costs $30 per person. 5. Honor Dunwoody High School’s Hall of Fame inductees for the class of 2010.

The DHS Community Association is hosting its annual induction ceremony Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunwoody Country Club. Tickets are $50 per person. For more information, .

The class of 2010 inductees are: Jeff Arnold, Danielle Dion, Orantes Grant, Charles London, Travis Stroud and Ed Winterstein.
