Five Things to Do This Weekend (June 3-5)

Ballet, dog park clean up, Soap Box Derby, art and storytime

1. Clean up after the dogs. Brook Run Dog Park will be holding a Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Dogs are welcome.

 2. Wave the checkered flag. The Dunwoody Kiwanis Club is putting on the fourth Saturday at First Baptist Church of Atlanta starting at 8:30 a.m. with races starting a 9 a.m. The race is a qualifier for the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio.

 3. Watch Plies and Pirouettes. The Bush Centre for Ballet is putting on a recital at the . The company – with excerpts from Balanchine’s Jewels and Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. At the door, $12 for adults and $8 for children. Children under the age of 6 get in free. The show starts at 3 p.m. Sunday.

 4. See works of art. is putting on it annual . The show is open Mondays through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m.

 5. Listen to stories. Barnes and Noble will be hosting a Saturday at 11 a.m. for children 5 and younger. There will be a story and craft making.
