Five Things You Need to Know For the Weekend

Hunt for easter eggs with the kids, adopt a pet and more

Welcome to "Five Things You Need to Know for the Weekend," a Dunwoody Patch column that sifts through the long list of events competing for your time to offer our pick of five things worth doing with your time off. Notice of future events can be sent to jasonmassad@gmail.com.

1. Ready for a tough bike ride? 35-mile ride at 5:30 a.m. Saturday. The ride starts from Dunwoody High School.

2. Looking for a pet? Dog and puppy adoptions will be happening at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart Perimeter in Dunwoody.  The adoptions are coordinated by the group “Angels Among Us.” Each pet will have their foster caretaker, handler and volunteers on hand to answer people's questions. The group rescues animals from high-kill facilities in the state.

3. Hunt for Easter Eggs. The Calvary Assembly of God will be t with 10,000 eggs, which is plenty for an egg hunt. The event is open to the community. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and the event starts after the registration.

4. See some art. The Spruill Gallery is featuring the work of Terri Dilling, the visiting artist at Atlanta’s Center for Chemical Evolution. The show includes collaborative works with 15 other artists. The exhibit begins at 11 a.m.

5. The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta k. Rabbi Brian Glusman will be leading the event. The event starts at 6 p.m. A catered meal is offered at the event.
