Five Things to Do This Weekend (April 15-17)

Bike Rides, Modern Dance, Books and Lemonade Days

Welcome to "Five Things to Do This Weekend," a Dunwoody Patch column that sifts through the long list of events competing for your time to offer our pick of five things worth doing with your time off.

1. See Dunwoody on two wheels. The Dunwoody Preservation Trust is putting on its third annual Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. from . There are three different bike rides of varying length (3.5, 8 and 29-37 miles) for different experience levels of riders. The cost for the event is $15 per rider, the proceeds of which will be used to purchase and install bike racks throughout the city. Chick-Fil-A is providing food and refreshments for riders. 2. See Modern Dance at the Marcus Jewish Community Center. The is holding its  Sunday night at 7 and 9 p.m. The show is being put on in partnership with Full Radius Dance. Tickets for members are $15 for adults and $9 for children and for non-members are $20 for adults and $15 for children.

3. Plant a flower, read a book.  at the Dunwoody Library. The Dunwoody Garden Club will be planting flowers at the Saturday morning. For kids, there will be rabbits to pet from Kopp’s Kritters, a storytime, craft building and a scavenger hunt. There will also be experts on hand to answer questions on gardening, simple home repairs, backyard bees and, of course, about the library. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

4. Head on out to Brook Run Park for the annual . Events run Friday night from 5 -11, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

5. Fantasy Literature fan? Check out , author of ‘The Wheel of Time’ series. Guests include authors, workshops, panels, books signings, discussion groups, a dealers hall and charity events. The event is at the . The charity events will benefit the Mayo Clinic, where Jordan had been treated. Registration is a the door. Friday tickets are $20, Saturday, $40 and Sunday $20. Tickets for the full weekend are $65 and for Saturday and Sunday together are $50.
