Council members will be sitting on the rigged up seat Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.  – at the mercy of  citizens with good throwing arms. The Dunk Tank will be open through the weekend, with several different volunteers taking turns.

Unlimited ride passes cost $20 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and $25 on Saturday. Individual rides can be purchased with tickets, which cost $1 each. Most rides require 3 to 5 tickets.

There are also coupons for the four-day event (including a $10 off Thursday deal).

According to weather.com, there is a 30 percent chance of rain Friday and Saturday with the possibility of some isolated thunderstorms, but other than that possibility, the temperatures should be in the mid to high 70s.

Saturday, Dunwoody’s Joe Seconder will be leading the third annual ‘Bike Ride Around Dunwoody,’ an event to raise money for bike racks in the city and to help gain support for making Dunwoody a more bicycle-friendly city.

Three options are available for the ride:

• A three and a half mile ‘Comfort Route’ for younger riders and less experienced riders. That route is police supported.

• An eight mile ‘Family Route’ that goes along the Jim Benson Bike trail. The route follows the same route as the 2010 ride, following green painted markers. The route is police supported.

• For the intense cycling crowd, there is a 29 to 37 mile ‘Challenge Route.’ The route is intended for those who can ride 17 mph or faster on flats.

For more information on the rides, head to the Bike Ride Around Dunwoody website.
